Hair cut + Qod Max Organiq Initial Results
I am both happy and sad it had to come to this. Last month I decided to go swimming. I did all of the protective measures before swimming such as: covering my hair in conditioner, sealing it with an oil and wearing a swim cap. I swam for about 4 hours. Once I got out, I immediately went to shampoo with swimmers shampoo. As I washed my hair, it began to come out in clumps! I had never seen my hair fall out so much! I was distraught! I didn’t go swimming again and went heat free for a...
Knock off Crea Clip
Ever since the Crea Clip came on the scene I have been secretly lusting for one. The idea looks so awesome and the videos on youtube made it look really simple and easy to use. Everything was great……until I looked at the price. All I could think was…. I tried for months to find a cheaper alternative to no avail. That is, until this black friday…… I was doing my usual perusing for deals and came across a website called It had advertised this “hair cutting tool” for only + free shipping on sale. I thought “what...
Naked Assuage Thermal Smoothing Complex
After I decided to transition for the 3rd time, I began to struggle once a lot of new growth came in. I saw a post on about new generation keratin treatments and this intrigued me. These new products used glyoxyl cystine to produce a smoothing effect. This meant hair that was smooth and straight with none of the ramifications of formaldehyde. After a bit of research and penny pinching I saved up to buy a bottle of this from a beauty supply distributor. At a bit less that $100 a bottle for 8 oz this very expensive with...
Alter Ego Spherique
Alter Ego has been around for quite some time. their products have been know to be of great quality and excellence. I have heard nothing but glowing reviews about their products such as the Linage relaxer, Garlic Hot Oil treatment and the Hasty Shine Spray. I actually had my hair texturized with the texturizer and my scalp did not burn at all. It was a very comfortable experience. So I as was on my usual prowl for new keratin products I was just excited when i found out that they came out with a new keratin treatment line. The...
Joico Kpak Line
Joico, Joico, Joico. It was all I could read on the hair boards once upon a time. This was supposed to be one of the best lines you could buy for your hair. The K-pak line however ruled supreme for quite a few years. I found it very hard to find a bad review for these products and I really tried searching! After I relaxed my hair Fall of 2011, I decided to research these products to make sure that my even more fragile hair stays on my head. I had myself convinced that this was the line for...
Ultrasonic Infrared irons….ingenious or gimmick?
While doing some research I came across this new hair care technology. Manufacturers have combined the power of ultrasonic frequencies with infrared light. This creates a new product that is heatless yet deeply conditions the hair better than anything before. The ultrasonic vibrations coupled with the infrared light causes water molecules to speed up and vaporize. This allows whatever is in a conditioning or keratin treatment to effectively get into the hair shaft. Here is a list of qualities these irons seem to have in common: Do not straighten Repair hair for shinier, smoother, and thicker results Helps the...
Ion Keratin Smoothing Treatment
Back in the late spring of 2011 the Ion brand from Sally’s came out with a new keratin treatment. It boasted that it reduced 90-100% of frizz, 50% of curl and replenishes keratin at the same time. Not only that, it came in a nice sized 12 oz bottle for about $20. What a steal! This looked like a cheap version of the keratin treatment I had used before then and it had NO FORMALDEHYDE! I couldn’t believe it! As it turns out, this was another lesson of “you get what you pay for”. Here are the ingredients: Water,...

The Nice n Curly Stretch it Straight promises smoother hair, is only $ and has the ingredient glyoxyloyl carbocyctene (usually found in more expensive smoothing treatments).
