Alfaparf is an Italian line and pretty much considered the “Rolls Royce” of hair care. I wanted to try some more salon and luxury products so I decided to try using one of Alfaparf’s well touted leave in vials. I just had to test for myself if the products were worth the hype!

The essential oil comes in a small glass vial and one is enough for a whole head. It is a deep blue liquid and has a very strong perfume scent. Even though it is called “essential oil”, it is not oily at all but has more of a watery consistency and feel.

Since I wasn’t too sure about putting just a vial on my hair alone I paired it with Razac Perfect for Perms leave in. I chose this leave in because it is a neutral leave in and I felt it would not detract from the effects of the essential oil.

I rollerset my hair using magnetic rollers and this was the result. It was a bit poofier than I was expecting but the volume was welcome that day! My hair had plenty of bounce and body as well.(this is obviously pre hair cut)

I did notice that the Razac lefts some white bits in my hair. It seems as if I didn’t shake it up enough before using it. Also I went out that night and my hair held up pretty well through various activities. But it felt like at any moment it would blow up on me or look crazy. I felt like although my hair looked nice there wasn’t enough hold to prevent frizz.

Overall I wasn’t that impressed with the product. Perhaps if I had paired it with a heavier leave in conditioner and or flat iron I would have gotten better results. The shine was not as high as I was expecting either due to the amount of texture I was left with after rollersetting. I do not like the high price and heavy smell of the product so I will not repurchase. I didn’t let this deter me from buying more products from Alfaparf however! More reviews from this line soon!
