Salerm is pretty well known for their salon quality products. In fact, their B5 leave in conditioner is their most raved about hair product. I tried it and was left underwhelmed. It left my hair dull and coated and I just could not bring myself to like it. This did not deter me from trying out something else from their line. I’m glad I did. Their Brushing heat protector has been apart of my rotation for over a year because it gives great results every time.

I came across this product when I had gotten my first relaxer. The stylist used it on my to get my hair pin straight. She didn’t tell me the name but after a bit of searching I was able to find it. There were barely any reviews on this stuff but I was pretty sure this was it. So I went ahead and bought a bottle at my local Beauty supply store. I used it off an off for a while and then forgot about it because I was trying to do the no heat thing. I decided to take it out of my stash when I decided I could no longer transition without heat because my ends were getting chewed up in buns.

Salerm Brushing Heat Protectant

The product description reads: Technical Brushing Spray setting lotion contains ingredients resistant to high temperatures which allow a longer lasting hold of any blow dried style.Provides the hair with maximum structural strength and resistance thanks to the specific multi-range wheat proteins which allow simultaneous restructuring of the hair cortex and structure.

The ingredients are: aqua (water),alcohol denat., hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed keratin, polyquaternium-16, vp/va copolymer,benzophenone-4, parfum (fragrance), peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium citrate, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, c.i. 42053 (fd&c green nÂș 3).

It does have alcohol in it which is considered a “no no” but since it had performed well before, I decided to try it anyway.

The clear blue liquid has a light perfumey scent and was easy to apply to my freshly washed my hair. After applying a bit of leave in, I sprayed the heat protectant on and combed it through. Then I blow dried and flat ironed as usual. In these pictures, I was 8 months post.

Ignore my ends! Focus on the straightness!

Ignore my ends! Focus on the straightness!

My hair got pin straight from the root to the tip! It felt so smooth and I didn’t need to add anything to the hair for a whole week. It just stayed nice and straight with no issues. Whenever I want straight hair and am not using a keratin treatment I pull this baby out. It works well every time!

If you are looking for a new heat protectant and don’t mind the alcohol then i would highly recommend this product! It is also a great value because it lasts forever!

Have you tried this product or any other product from this line? What did you think of it?
