While doing some research I came across this new hair care technology. Manufacturers have combined the power of ultrasonic frequencies with infrared light. This creates a new product that is heatless yet deeply conditions the hair better than anything before. The ultrasonic vibrations coupled with the infrared light causes water molecules to speed up and vaporize. This allows whatever is in a conditioning or keratin treatment to effectively get into the hair shaft.

Here is a list of qualities these irons seem to have in common:

  • Do not straighten
  • Repair hair for shinier, smoother, and thicker results
  • Helps the moisture, nutrition, and protein penetrate directly into the cortex without heat
  • Seals the gaps of the hair cuticle to make hair silky and shiny
  • Seals in keratin without the use of heat

As far as I’ve seen, there are 4 major infrared/ultrasonic irons on the market today. They include:

Beaute Ultrasonic Hair Repair Iron

Beaute Ultrasonic Hair Repair Iron

Notable Features:
First iron of its kind and 14 professional LED infrared lights

Jose Eber Therapy RX Conditioning Tool

Jose Eber Therapy RX Conditioning Tool

Notable Features:
Antimicrobial properties, clarifying the hair as it is conditioned

Croc Greenion Ultrasonic Hair Iron

Croc Greenion Ultrasonic Hair Iron

Notable Features:
Titanium plates and LCD screen to control level of ultrasonic/infrared

Thairapy Restore RX Conditioning Tool

Thairapy Restore RX Conditioning Tool

Notable Features:
Has both UV LEDs and Infrared LEDS

Is it me or do these models seem very similar? With the exception of the Croc iron these look like triplicates. Although, the Beaute Ultrasonic comes in pink as well.

They are all priced at $199 but I am not sure if it is worth the splurge just yet. Even during Black Friday/Cyber Monday I couldn’t find a deal. I don’t know when I will be getting my hands on one. I am definitely working on it though!

The market for this kind of technology doesn’t seem to be very big now but I can see it possibly growing in the future. I would like to test it out for myself to see how much more effective it is compared to a regular deep conditioner and plastic cap. It could just an expensive piece of tech garbage but it may also be a hair miracle for someone with difficult hair.Only time will tell….
